But here at Unearthing Asia, we do, as it brings with it a chance for us to look back and recap the week.

The highlight of the week for us here at Unearthing Asia was undoubtedly Tuesday, April 14, 2009. It started with a simple unsuspecting tweet. Whoa! That’s what I call a sweet Easter surprise, thank you very much! We’re thinking of keeping the Blog of the Month badge well towards the end of June, will that be fine I wonder?

I look back with fondness at my culinary adventures from Hong Kong. What a great variety of tasty treats they had!

Mich covers Saigon in 4 posts each describing an eventful day, starting with Pho for the President.

Another week passed by, and life goes on. That’s how it goes now isn’t it? Christine of Almost Fearless wrote an inspiring piece recently on the philosophy of travel, answering her readers question on: Should I Travel?

It’s a beautiful read you should definitely check out. For me personally, Travel is simply a dream I wish to pursue. I’m not exactly Traveling full time yet, or throwing away my 9-to-5s, but that is a goal I’m trying to achieve – to be able to Travel the world. Especially now that I’m still in my youths (young adults), I want to go on and explore as much as I can.

Much like that Mark Twain’s quote – “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do, than by the ones you did do”.

I’m scared to hell of the fact that each day, another opportunity passes me by. And one day I’ll find myself old and wrinkled, and out of strength, out of will, out of motivation – out of opportunities. I’m scared of not having the opportunity to do whatever it is I want to do. So the next time some opportunity – any opportunities, really – falls into my lap, I want to be sure I can seize upon that and go do it.

What about you? What is keeping you from taking your chances and go travel (or whatever dream you have always had)? Leave a comment and let us know!

From the Blog

We’ve put up a new section called Download, which right now houses our Inspiring Travel Quotes Wall Papers, featuring five of our favorite Travel Quotes.

Stuck between transit in Singapore? Fret not. Check out this guide for a fun day-trip suggestion in Singapore.

Locks aren’t exactly synonymous with love, but the romantics over at Seoul, South Korea has a unique tradition combining padlocks and love!

From the Web

Carrie over at MySeveralWorlds plays host to talented writers like herself, her husband, and…
her very own ESL students. Oh to be sure, there are other contributors, but these young-ones truly make for a unique addition to the site!

Christine Gilbert of Almost Fearless, freelance writer traveling and working remotely from anywhere. Quit your job. Travel the world. Need I say more?

Dopplr is pretty neat. Love the rainbow colored bars and all that jazz. I’m sure it’s a fun little thing to get yourself immersed in, but none of my contacts seemed to be using it. Do add me on Doppler: tjhinn!
